Mr. Charlie Amos, Academic Recovery Specialist for CPHS, explains the expectations for students attending school virtually.

Hi my name is Charlie Amos and I am the academic recovery specialist here at Caldwell Parish High School.  I'd like to take a few moments of your time to go over the expectations for high school students participating in Virtual learning. First, check Google classroom and your student email on a daily basis. Communication between teachers and students is vital for success in Virtual learning. Your teacher will be posting assignments made in Google Classroom unless other arrangements have been made. Use your school email to contact your teacher with any questions. Second, assignments should be turned in by the due date. We understand extra time may be required due to unforeseen circumstances. Therefore you have no more than 2 weeks past the due date to submit an assignment. After that grace period, the assignment will become a zero. Third, students should not eat or drink while using a Chromebook. Also students should practice good hygiene and care for the device by keeping their hands clean and the area around where they work neat. Fourth, participating in Google Meet is required by your teacher. If your teacher schedules for you to be virtually a part of the class in real time it is your responsibility to participate. You should be properly clothed in daywear type clothing during this time. You should not have music or television playing in the background and you should be seated somewhere in the home in a stationary location preferably at a table or desk. Fifth, if you are participating in the live Google meet remember to take turns. Wait to be called on by teacher and try not to interrupt others when they're speaking. Behave as if you were in the classroom.
